Man Jailed for Fatal Stabbing Over Snoring Dispute

Just a sudden attempt to express the concept of crime.

A Philadelphia-area man has been sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of his neighbor following a dispute over loud snoring.

Christopher Casey, 56, of Upper Moreland, received a sentence of 11½ to 23 months in county jail, followed by three years of probation. The January 14 incident occurred when Casey fatally stabbed his 62-year-old neighbor, Robert Wallace, after Wallace, frustrated by the snoring, threatened Casey. Casey, initially charged with third-degree murder, expressed remorse in court.

The new pedestrian bridge over Manatawny Creek in Memorial Park officially opened Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, five years after the previous bridge was destroyed by a storm. Funded by state, local, and county resources, the $516,000 bridge reconnects Veterans Island with the rest of the park.

Key funding included a $150,000 state grant announced by Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn, along with additional contributions from Montgomery County and the Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation. The ceremony marked the completion of a long-awaited project, reuniting Memorial Park’s two halves.

Phillies Conclude Tough Road Trip with 12-5 Loss to Diamondbacks

The Phillies ended their West Coast trip with a tough 12-5 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, capping a 4-6 stretch. Alec Bohm’s two-run double in the first inning gave Philadelphia an early lead, but Arizona quickly responded. Cristopher Sánchez struggled, allowing seven earned runs on 12 hits in under five innings.

Relief pitching couldn’t contain Arizona’s offense, with the Diamondbacks extending their lead in the fifth and sixth innings. The Phillies managed a brief rally in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough. Merrill Kelly shut down the Phillies after the first inning, sealing Arizona's win.

The Phillies return home Tuesday for a two-game series against the Marlins.
