I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.

Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale — so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.

The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3–5 days — straight to your door, from 39¢ a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.

Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority Begins Amtrak Operations Simulations

Empty railroad track curving along a misty river at golden hour with a glowing signal

The Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority voted unanimously Monday to begin Amtrak operations simulations with Norfolk Southern and SEPTA while it waits on the federal Phase 2 step.

The work is paid for by two state grants totaling $654,000, and the Federal Railroad Administration meets with the authority monthly.

Planned stops on the line are Reading, Pottstown and Phoenixville.

Pennsylvania Eases Limits on Junior Firefighters and EMS Volunteers

Travels With The Post, republishing The Center Square, reports that House Bill 2014, now Act 78 of 2026, eases limits on young fire and EMS volunteers across Pennsylvania.

The law sets a uniform 10 PM year-round cutoff for 14- and 15-year-old volunteers with parent consent, and it lets volunteers 14 and older ride in emergency vehicles.

It takes effect in 60 days, which is good news for the local volunteer companies that count on young members learning the ropes.
