Route 422 Nighttime Bridge Work and

Lane Closures Set for Oct. 26 to 29

PennDOT plans two sets of U.S. Route 422 lane closures from Monday, Oct. 26, through Thursday, Oct. 29, affecting drivers in Limerick, Upper Providence, Lower Pottsgrove and North Coventry townships, weather permitting.

Under a $6.2 million project by contractor Allan Myers Inc. to resurface and repair a 4.4-mile stretch in Limerick and Upper Providence, overnight bridge repairs will close one lane eastbound from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Royersford Road and Troutman Road and one lane westbound from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Troutman Road and Royersford Road.

Separately, daytime guiderail installations under PennDOT’s $83.6 million expressway reconstruction project will close the westbound right lane on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Hanover Street interchanges.

Hagen’s Haunted House in Boyertown

Marks 20 Years of Scares for a Cause

Hagen’s Haunted House at 357 E. Third St. in Boyertown is marking its 20th year, and will be open this Saturday and throughout Halloween weekend.

Homeowner Kim Steffenhagen told the station the tradition started in her dining room with a single animatronic after she said trick-or-treating brought too much social anxiety for her young son, Kristian, who she said is on the autism spectrum, so he could hand out candy at home instead.

The walk-through display now stretches through the basement and down the length of the yard with 110 animatronics, drew nearly 1,500 visitors last year and is free to visit, with donations supporting the local charity Tyler’s Ride.
