Colebrookdale Railroad Awarded
$10 Million for Track Improvements
Colebrookdale Railroad will receive $10 million in federal funding to rehabilitate approximately five miles of track along its active freight and tourist rail line connecting Berks and Montgomery counties.
The funding comes through the Federal Railroad Administration’s Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvement Program and is part of a combined $42.3 million awarded to Pennsylvania rail projects.
The latest grant follows a recent $25 million federal award for the railroad’s Pottstown terminal.
According to Berks County Commissioner Christian Leinbach, the new funding provides the final amount needed to complete the core track infrastructure connecting Boyertown and Pottstown.
Boyertown Museum Teases ‘Back to the Future’-Style Attraction for Gallery 2 Opening
The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles is teasing another attraction ahead of the Nov. 13 grand opening of Gallery 2.
A new promotional image features the silhouette of a DeLorean-style vehicle accompanied by the phrase “Something’s Coming.” The museum also referenced “Great Scott,” a phrase closely associated with the “Back to the Future” films.
The teaser suggests a “Back to the Future”-related vehicle or display could be part of the Gallery 2 opening, although the museum’s post does not explicitly identify the vehicle or provide additional details.
Gallery 2 will open to the public on Friday, Nov. 13, expanding access to a portion of the museum that had previously been closed to visitors.
Bobcat Goldthwait Coming
to SoulJoel’s for Two Shows
Comedian, actor and filmmaker Bobcat Goldthwait will perform two shows at SoulJoel’s at SunnyBrook in Pottstown on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Performances are scheduled for 6 and 8 p.m., with doors opening 30 minutes before each show. General admission tickets are $25, while preferred seating in the closest 75 seats is $35.
Goldthwait has built a career spanning stand-up comedy, acting, writing and directing. His acting credits include “Scrooged” and the “Police Academy” films, while his directing work includes “World’s Greatest Dad,” “God Bless America,” “Willow Creek” and several comedy specials.
Free parking will be available at SunnyBrook. A full bar will be open before, during and after the performances, while food will be available at Gatsby’s Pub before or after the shows.
