Pottstown Library Reaches $77,000 Elevator Repair Goal as Fundraising Continues

The Pottstown Regional Public Library has reached its initial $77,000 fundraising goal to cover the estimated cost of repairing its elevator, with additional fundraising now underway for possible unexpected expenses.
The library said the milestone was reached following last month’s L’oe Show fundraiser. Since then, donors have contributed more than $10,000 additional dollars toward unforeseen repair costs. The library plans to continue fundraising toward an overall goal of $100,000, noting that additional expenses could reach $25,000.
The repair will involve removing the elevator’s old hydraulic jack and installing a newly fabricated replacement. The repair company is currently waiting for the new jack to arrive, while removal of the existing unit is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
The library plans to provide additional updates as work progresses and continues to accept donations toward the elevator fund.
