Pottstown Regional Public Library Seeks Increased Municipal Funding

The Pottstown Regional Public Library is asking its municipal partners for increased funding as local governments begin the budget process.

The library, which says it serves more than 40,000 residents in the greater Pottstown area, has presented its funding request to Pottstown Borough Council as part of the effort.

Library officials said additional funding would help the organization pursue future goals and continue serving the community. The library is also directing residents to its website for information about its funding structure and how its financial support compares with other libraries in Montgomery County.

Supporters are being encouraged to contact their Borough Council representatives regarding the funding request, share information about the campaign and continue using library services.

More information is available through the Pottstown Regional Public Library website.

Big Phil’s Bar & Grill Says ‘Thank You

and Goodbye’ After Final Night

Big Phil’s Bar & Grill said goodbye Friday night, bringing customers, friends and staff together for one final evening before closing its doors.

The farewell gathering featured a buffet, drinks and entertainment from RAD Karaoke & Entertainment, giving longtime customers and friends an opportunity to visit the restaurant one last time.

The buffet carried a $25 cover, with half of the proceeds going to the restaurant’s staff.

For Big Phil’s, the final evening was about more than closing the doors. It offered an opportunity for the people who supported the business to gather, share memories and say goodbye.
