Boyertown Celebrates 19th

Annual Oktoberfest

Downtown Boyertown welcomed the arrival of fall as thousands gathered for the community's 19th Annual Oktoberfest this weekend.

Held Friday and Saturday, the annual celebration featured German-inspired traditions, live entertainment, delicious food, and activities for all ages. Residents and visitors filled the streets to enjoy the festive atmosphere while supporting local businesses and vendors.

One of the event's most anticipated traditions, the stein-holding competition, once again drew enthusiastic participants and spectators. Contestants tested their strength and endurance by holding a filled beer stein at arm's length for as long as possible, with cheers from the crowd throughout the competition.

The annual festival has become a staple of the Boyertown community, bringing together families, friends, and visitors to celebrate the season while showcasing the town's vibrant downtown.

Pottstown Beacon of Hope Reaches Major Milestone for Bridge Housing Center

Pottstown Beacon of Hope has announced a significant step forward in its efforts to expand services for individuals experiencing homelessness, with land development plans for its new facility officially filed with the county.

According to the organization, the filing clears the way for construction to begin on a 45-room bridge housing center designed to provide temporary, stable housing along with wraparound support services. The center aims to help residents transition toward long-term housing and greater independence.

Beacon of Hope said the project marks a major milestone after years of planning and credited the support of community members, churches, businesses, donors, and volunteers for helping bring the vision closer to reality.

The nonprofit plans to share construction updates and progress as work on the new facility moves forward.
