Pottstown Patch, a Patch In Town / Brand Partner post, reports Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 7, 2026. Borough Hall and most municipal offices are closed, Pottstown School District is closed, and Pottstown Regional Public Library is closed (the library is also closed Sundays).
Monday trash and bulk collection in the South and East districts is delayed one day; other collection days are not affected. Generally closed: U.S. post offices, state offices, and most banks. Generally expected open (check hours): Giant, 86 Glocker Way; Redner's, 1300 N. Charlotte St.; CVS, 1833 E. High St.; Walmart Pharmacy, 233 Shoemaker Rd.; Home Depot, 295 Armand Hammer Blvd.; and Lowe's, 1136 Town Square Rd. The page says locations may adjust hours; check before heading out.
Separately, The Pottstown Mercury reports all PennDOT driver license and photo centers will be closed Sept. 5 through 7. Online services remain at dmv.pa.gov 24/7.

Rowan K. Briggs mixed-media show
opens Tuesday at MCCC North Hall

Travels with the Post reports a mixed-media / book-arts show by Rowan K. Briggs runs Sept. 1 (Tuesday) through Oct. 23 (Friday) at North Hall Gallery on the MCCC Pottstown campus, 16 E. High St.
An opening reception is Sept. 22 (Tuesday), 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free. The works reveal the process of making modern, artful comic books, from the artist's own Triskelion series to an adaptation of Shakespeare's MacBeth.
North Hall hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed Saturday and Sunday.

Lower Pottsgrove beginner bird-watch
is Saturday, Sept. 26, at Ringing Rocks

Travels with the Post reports Lower Pottsgrove is hosting a free beginner bird-watch on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at 8 a.m. at Ringing Rocks Park, 1880 N. Keim St.
Maximum 12 people. Advance registration is requested at the municipal building, 610-323-0436, ask for the administrative assistant. Rain date is Saturday, Oct. 10.
Bring comfortable walking shoes, binoculars, tick repellent, and drinking water. Parking is suggested at the township's nearby Yerger Road lot.

"Allowed to See Differently" opens Tuesday
at Black Moth, 2209 E. High St.

Travels with the Post reports a new show, "Allowed to See Differently," begins Sept. 1 (Tuesday) through Sept. 30 at Black Moth Tattoo and Gallery, 2209 E. High St.
Gallery owner Steve Martin said it is abstract art by local and regional artists, free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Thursdays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
An artists' reception is Sept. 4 (Friday), 6 to 9 p.m., open to the public.
