Boyertown Community Park Announces Return of Haunted Trails and Trunk or Treat

Halloween fun is returning to Boyertown Community Park this fall as the Boyertown Park and Recreation Board hosts its annual Haunted Trails event on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The family-friendly event will feature Trunk or Treat, giving children the opportunity to collect candy from decorated vehicles, along with the popular Haunted Trail, which is designed for visitors looking for a more thrilling Halloween experience. Organizers note that the Haunted Trail may not be suitable for very young children or those who are easily frightened.

Community members are invited to take part in the event by registering to decorate a vehicle for Trunk or Treat or by volunteering to portray spooky characters or create themed scenes along the Haunted Trail. All participants must receive approval from the Boyertown Park and Recreation Board.

The registration deadline to participate is Oct. 1, 2026.

The event will take place at Boyertown Community Park, 417 S. Madison Street, Boyertown, offering an evening of Halloween-themed entertainment for families and the community.

Former Teachers Bring Classroom Comedy

to SoulJoel's Back-to-School Show

SoulJoel's at SunnyBrook will host a special Back-to-School Comedy Show featuring former teachers turned professional comedians Chip Chantry and Jay Yoder on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 4 p.m.

Designed for educators, parents, and anyone who has experienced school life, the afternoon performance offers a lighthearted way to celebrate the start of a new academic year. Guests can enjoy the show before grabbing food or drinks at Gatsby's Pub, located inside the venue.

The event will be held at SoulJoel's, 50 SunnyBrook Road, Pottstown. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime, with free parking available. General admission tickets are $20, while preferred seating in the closest 50 seats is $30. Tickets are non-refundable and must be purchased directly through SoulJoel's.

Chantry, a former fourth-grade teacher, has built a successful career in stand-up comedy, television writing, and acting. He appears in the Netflix comedy series Tires, released his comedy special Move Closer, and has written for NBC, FOX, Disney+, and National Geographic. He has also toured nationally and opened for comedians including Dave Chappelle, Sarah Silverman, Bob Saget, and Gary Gulman.

Yoder spent more than two decades as an educator before becoming a nationally touring comedian and speaker. Known for his popular "Cheer Dad" social media character, he has amassed a large online following with comedy centered on competitive cheer, parenting, and family life. He also tours with the Bored Teachers Comedy Tour and incorporates personal stories, including raising his autistic daughter, into his performances.

Salvation Army of Pottstown Launches

New Season of Free Baking Classes

The Salvation Army of Pottstown is welcoming the community back for a new season of its Friends & Family Baking Class, beginning with a free hands-on session featuring apple parfaits.

The class will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 5:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 137 King St., Pottstown. Participants will prepare the featured dessert, take home the recipe, and enjoy a fun evening of baking together.

All ingredients and baking supplies will be provided at no cost. The program is open to individuals and groups ages 12 and older. Children under 12 are welcome when accompanied by a chaperone.
