The Montco 30% Project, in partnership with Montgomery County's Office of Housing and Community Development, will host a series of free workshops this fall to help first-time homebuyers better understand the homebuying process and available financial assistance programs.

The first virtual workshop will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Participants will learn about the steps involved in purchasing a first home, available grants and assistance programs, and hear from homeowners who have successfully used grant funding.

Additional workshops are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 23, in Lansdale and Saturday, Oct. 3, in Norristown.

Registration is required for all sessions. Those who register for the virtual workshop will receive a confirmation email with meeting information and additional details.

Downtown Pottstown will once again welcome classic cars, custom vehicles, food vendors and live entertainment as the Pottstown Nights Car Show hosts its MidSummer Meet Up on Saturday, Aug. 1.

The event will take place along High Street from 3 to 9 p.m., featuring a wide variety of show cars, local businesses, food vendors, breweries and community organizations. Organizers are also offering VIP parking for participating vehicles while space remains available.

Vehicle owners can enter through designated roll-in locations, with VIP early entry beginning at 2 p.m. General show vehicles will be able to enter from both ends of High Street once VIP entry concludes.

The event is presented by the Red Horse Motoring Club and supported by numerous local sponsors.

Registration is now open for the Pottsgrove-Pottstown Little League (PGPLL) Fall 2026 season, with baseball and softball programs available for area youth.

Registration runs through Aug. 26, and the cost is $65 per player for all divisions. Baseball is open to boys and girls ages 4-12, while softball is available for girls ages 6-12. PGPLL also offers a 13/14U Little League Intermediate (50/70) baseball division.

Practices are scheduled to begin during the last week of August, with games starting after Labor Day, depending on the division. Fall baseball and softball games and practices are held on Sundays, although coaches may schedule optional weekday practices.

Players in the 9U, 10U, 11/12U, 13/14U, Minors, Majors, and Intermediate divisions may travel to compete against other area Little Leagues.

Games and practices are held at fields throughout Pottstown Borough and the Pottsgrove municipalities. The league provides team shirts and hats, while players are responsible for supplying their own baseball or softball pants.

PGPLL is an independent, nonprofit youth sports organization serving Upper Pottsgrove, Lower Pottsgrove, West Pottsgrove, New Hanover Township, and Pottstown Borough.
