Trellis for Tomorrow Expands Fresh Food Access with Hydroponic Grow Towers

Trellis for Tomorrow is continuing to grow fresh produce throughout the region with the help of its Food for All program, which includes more than 20 hydroponic grow towers at partner locations.

The hydroponic towers provide an alternative growing option for organizations that want to participate in the program but have limited outdoor space. The vertical systems make it possible to grow fresh produce in compact areas while supporting local food access efforts.

This week, Trellis for Tomorrow staff visited partner sites to monitor the towers and check on the progress of the crops, which are thriving during the growing season.

Carousel at Pottstown Welcomes Josh Souders to Board of Directors

The Carousel at Pottstown has announced the appointment of Josh Souders to its Board of Directors.

Many in the community know Souders as the owner of The Very Best Weiner Shop, but carousel officials say he has long been a dedicated behind-the-scenes volunteer. For years, he has helped maintain the carousel's pinball machines and arcade games while generously donating his time and technical expertise whenever needed.

The organization recognized Souders for his continued commitment to the Derek Scott Saylor Memorial Carousel at Pottstown, noting that his volunteerism, generosity, and dedication to the community have made him a valuable part of the carousel's ongoing success.

Carousel officials welcomed Souders to the board and thanked him for his years of service and support.

Fight Stories Podcast and Comedy Show Coming to SoulJoel's

Comedy and combat sports fans can enjoy a unique double-feature when Fight Stories Live and a stand-up comedy show come to SoulJoel's Speakeasy on Saturday, July 11.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a live recording of the Fight Stories podcast, hosted by John Moses and Tyler Morrison, featuring BKFC fighter Travis "The Animal" Thompson as the special guest.

At 8:30 p.m., the laughs continue with a stand-up comedy show headlined by John Moses, with Tyler Morrison serving as host.

Guests may purchase tickets for either individual show or attend both events at a discounted price.

Food will be available before and after the performances at Gatsby's Pub, and a full bar will be open inside the venue.
