Pottstown Cruise Nights Returns June 27 for an Evening of Classic Cars and Community
Classic car owners and automotive enthusiasts are invited to gather for Pottstown Cruise Nights on Saturday, June 27, beginning at 5 p.m.
Held on the last Saturday of each month, the informal cruise celebrates the region's longstanding car culture and serves as a lead-in to the monthly Pottstown Nights Car Show, held on the first Saturday of each month.
Rather than a traditional car show, Cruise Nights encourages participants to enjoy a leisurely drive between the Hilltop Drive-In in Sanatoga and Dick's Radiator in Stowe, stopping at many of the area's iconic cruising locations along the way.
Popular stops include downtown Pottstown, Miller Mountain High Performance, the Hill School Wall, Mid-Town Tire, Hollywood Garage East, McDonald's, Pat's Beverages, and other familiar gathering places that have been part of the local cruising scene for decades.
Organizers also encourage attendees to support local restaurants, shops, and businesses throughout the evening while enjoying a nostalgic night on the road.
Comedian Doug Benson to Make SoulJoel's Debut with Four Performances
Nationally recognized comedian, podcaster, and actor Doug Benson will make his debut at SoulJoel's in Pottstown with four performances over two nights.
The stand-up shows are scheduled for Friday, June 26, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., and Saturday, June 27, at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at SoulJoel's, located inside the Historic SunnyBrook Ballroom.
Benson has built a national following through his stand-up comedy, podcasts, television appearances, and films. He is widely known as the host of the popular podcasts Doug Loves Movies and Getting Doug With High, and has appeared on Comedy Central's The High Court, @midnight, Trailer Park Boys, and You're the Worst. His film credits include Super High Me, The Greatest Movie Ever Rolled, and Chronic-Con: Episode 420.
Guests attending the shows can enjoy food from Gatsby's Pub before or after the performance, with beverages available throughout the evening.
Montgomery County Community College Offers Drone Academy Summer Camps
Montgomery County Community College is inviting young learners to take flight this summer through its Drone Academy, offering beginner and advanced camps designed to introduce students to drone technology, aviation, coding, and STEM education.
The camps provide hands-on experiences that teach participants how to safely operate drones while exploring the growing field of unmanned aircraft systems.
The Beginner Drone Camp, open to ages 10-12, introduces campers to drone safety, basic piloting skills, aviation concepts, and a variety of STEM activities using modern technology. Participants also learn about career opportunities in the drone industry before wrapping up the week with a Drone Soccer Tournament.
The Advanced Drone Camp, designed for ages 13-15, expands on those skills by having campers build and program their own drones. Participants will also strengthen their piloting abilities, explore coding, and gain a deeper understanding of careers in the rapidly growing drone industry. The week concludes with its own Drone Soccer Tournament.
No previous Drone Academy experience is required to enroll in the advanced camp.
