Pottsgrove Adopts 2026-27 Budget
with 3.29% Property Tax Hike
The Pottsgrove School Board approved a $91 million budget for the 2026-27 school year that includes a 3.29 percent property tax increase. The tax hike is lower than initially projected, thanks in part to $1.55 million in unexpected revenue generated from the sale of the district’s school bus fleet.
Pottstown Rotary Duck Race Returns
July 4 with More Than 100 Prizes

The Pottstown Regional Public Library is encouraging community members to purchase tickets for the Pottstown Rotary Duck Race 2026, with a portion of every ticket sold through the library directly benefiting its programs and services.
Duck race tickets are available for $5 each at the library’s main desk through June 15. Participants will have the chance to win from more than 100 prizes while supporting both the library and community initiatives.
The annual Duck Race is scheduled for Friday, July 4, at 5 p.m. as part of the GoFourth! Celebration in Pottstown. The event has become a popular Independence Day tradition, drawing residents together for family-friendly fun and charitable giving.
Library supporters are encouraged to purchase their tickets before the June 15 deadline to help support the Pottstown Regional Public Library and take part in one of the area's most anticipated summer events.
Last Chance to Catch Steel River Playhouse’s Hit Production of Freaky Friday

The curtain is preparing to close on Steel River Playhouse’s production of Disney’s Freaky Friday – The Musical, with the show's final weekend beginning tonight.
Audiences have just three remaining opportunities to see the family-friendly musical, with performances scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The production has entertained theatergoers with its blend of comedy, music, and heartfelt storytelling, earning praise from local audiences throughout its run.
Featuring a talented cast and a lively adaptation of the beloved Disney story, the musical follows a mother and daughter who unexpectedly switch bodies, leading to a series of humorous and eye-opening experiences that strengthen their understanding of one another.
As the final performances approach, theater fans are encouraged to secure tickets before the production concludes on Sunday.

Free Outdoor Movie Nights Continue
at Coventry Parlor at Laurel Locks

Families and movie lovers have another reason to spend their summer evenings outdoors as Coventry Parlor at Laurel Locks continues its series of Free Outdoor Movie Nights through July 11.
Organizers recently announced a schedule change, with “Shrek 2” set to be shown Saturday evening. The previously scheduled screening of “Step Brothers” has been moved to July 11.
The weekly event offers residents a chance to enjoy popular films in a relaxed outdoor setting at no cost. The movie nights are designed to provide affordable entertainment for individuals and families while bringing the community together throughout the summer season.
Free screenings will continue every Saturday through July 11, giving attendees several opportunities to enjoy a night out under the stars.
