The Polls Got 2024 Wrong. This Doesn't.

Pundits predicted. Polls projected. Most of them missed. Prediction markets didn't.

Kalshi is where people put real money behind their political read — which means the prices you see on who wins the 2028 nomination aren't opinions. They're commitments. Right now, tens of millions of dollars are already trading on who gets the Republican and Democratic nominations.

That's a different signal than any poll you'll read this week.

New Soccer Mini Pitch Opens

at Pollock Park in Pottstown

A new soccer facility is now open in Pottstown, providing local youth with a dedicated space to play and stay active.

The Mini Pitch at Pollock Park, located at 839 Cross Street, has officially been completed and is ready for use. The small-sided soccer field was developed to expand recreational opportunities and create a safe, accessible environment for young athletes in the community.

The project was made possible through a partnership between the Borough of Pottstown, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Lionsraw, and UNICEF as part of the national 26x26 Initiative. The program aims to leverage the excitement surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup to expand access to sports, improve community spaces and engage youth in underserved neighborhoods across the country.

Additional support came from the Pottstown Regional Community Foundation, which awarded a $10,000 grant to assist with construction costs.

The mini pitch was built on the site of former tennis courts within Pollock Park and complements other recent investments in the area, including the opening of Cross Street Park in 2025. That nearby park features regulation basketball courts and off-street parking, further enhancing recreational amenities for residents.

Borough officials thanked the organizations and partners involved in bringing the project to completion and noted that an official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be announced in the near future.

Pottstown and Phoenixville Hospitals

Earn National Safety Recognition

Tower Health's Phoenixville Hospital and Pottstown Hospital have earned national recognition for their commitment to patient safety and quality care, receiving high marks in the latest hospital safety evaluations.

According to recently released ratings, both hospitals were recognized for maintaining strong safety standards and implementing practices designed to reduce medical errors, prevent infections and improve patient outcomes.

Hospital leaders credited physicians, nurses and support staff for their dedication to providing high-quality care across a wide range of services. The recognition reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen patient safety initiatives while delivering comprehensive healthcare to residents throughout western Montgomery County, northern Chester County and the greater Pottstown region.

The honors come as Tower Health continues working to improve its financial position and healthcare operations while maintaining a focus on patient care and community health services.

Officials say the recognition demonstrates the hospitals' commitment to creating safe environments for patients and their families while meeting rigorous national healthcare standards.
