Main Line Health Proposes Major
New Hospital in Upper Providence

A major healthcare expansion could be coming to Upper Providence Township as Main Line Health has unveiled plans for a new hospital campus along Arcola Road (Route 29), directly across from Providence Town Center.
The proposal calls for the construction of a 500,000-square-foot, five-story hospital featuring 108 patient beds on a vacant 42-acre property. The project would significantly expand Main Line Health’s presence in the area, complementing its existing medical campus nearby.
Future phases of the development could include two additional four-story medical office buildings, totaling approximately 140,000 square feet of office and healthcare space.
Plans also include:
🏥 A five-story hospital with 108 beds
🚗 Approximately 800 surface parking spaces
🅿️ Two parking garages
🚦 A new signalized entrance at Arcola Road and Providence Town Center
🚑 Emergency-only access from Mennonite Road
🌳 Extensive landscaping along residential property boundaries
During the June 3 Planning Commission meeting, concerns were raised about potential traffic impacts on Route 29 and the heavily traveled Route 422 corridor. However, the proposal was introduced without significant opposition.
Developers said environmental features in the northwestern portion of the property, including wetlands, floodplain areas and tributaries connected to Perkiomen Creek, would be preserved as part of the project.
The proposal remains in the review process, with additional discussion and public hearings expected at future Upper Providence Township Planning Commission meetings.

The program was led by Mihika Patel of 1 Mighty Mama, who guided attendees through conversations and exercises centered on effective networking and relationship-building.
Organizers said the event created an energetic and welcoming atmosphere as participants met new people, shared experiences and expanded their professional networks.
The Chamber also recognized several organizations and individuals who contributed to the event’s success, including:

Philadelphia Premium Outlets, which provided tables, chairs and giveaway items
Joe Rusiewicz, Executive Director of the Foundation for Pottstown Education
Rusiewicz shared information about the Gene Whistler Women’s Sports Fund, the featured REACH mission for the luncheon. The fund supports opportunities for young female athletes throughout the community.
