Thy Geekdom Con Returns for Weekend

of Anime and Gaming

Fans of anime, gaming and pop culture are gearing up for the return of Thy Geekdom Con, a three-day convention bringing entertainment, cosplay and competition to the Philly Expo Center area from May 22–24, 2026.

The convention will feature a wide variety of activities throughout the weekend, including:

  • Anime and pop culture attractions

  • Cosplay contests and masquerades

  • Video game tournaments

  • Tabletop gaming areas

  • Artist and crafter vendors

  • Comic-related programming

  • Panels and interactive events

Attendees will also have opportunities to participate in both casual and competitive gaming experiences, along with showcasing costumes and creative video editing skills during featured contests and showcases.

Event Schedule:

  • May 22: 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.

  • May 23: 10 a.m. – Midnight

  • May 24: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The event will take place in Halls A, B, D and E, with entrance through Hall A.

Organizers say the convention is designed to celebrate anime, gaming, creativity and fandom culture while bringing together fans from across the region.

Free Family Fun Night Planned at

Pottstown’s Ricketts Center on May 29

Families throughout the Pottstown area are invited to enjoy an evening of free entertainment, activities and community connection during an upcoming Family Fun Night at the Ricketts Center.

The event, organized by Community First Development Corporation and the Pottstown Community Coalition for Youth, will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ricketts Center, 658 Beech Street in Pottstown.

The free community event will feature:

  • Free food

  • Face painting

  • Music

  • Games and crafts

  • Prize giveaways including bikes, headphones and more

Organizers say the event is designed to bring families together for a safe and fun evening while promoting community engagement and youth-focused activities.

The program is supported by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.

BMBA Businesses Unite for Educational Community Discussion

Local businesses and community professionals are coming together for a free educational panel discussion designed to help families plan confidently for the future.

Hosted with support from the Berks-Mont Business Association (BMBA), the event will take place on Thursday, May 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Residence at Boyertown.

The community discussion will feature local experts covering a wide range of important topics, including:

  • Real estate

  • Financial planning

  • Legal guidance

  • Senior living resources

  • Funeral planning

  • Family support services

Participating organizations include:

Pottsgrove Soccer Club Hosting

Travel Soccer Meet & Greet

Families interested in learning more about travel soccer are invited to attend a Pottsgrove Soccer Club Travel Soccer Meet & Greet on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

The event will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Gerald Richards Park, located at 2150 Buchert Road in Pottstown. Players and families will have the opportunity to meet coaches and current players, ask questions about the travel soccer experience and participate in informal kick-around activities.

The program is open to boys and girls ages U10 and up, and organizers say the event is a great chance for families considering travel soccer to learn more in a relaxed and fun environment.

Light refreshments will also be provided.
