Local Student’s Letter Wins

Hearts at Gazzo’s Steaks

A simple letter from a local student is warming hearts across the community after Gazzo’s Steaks shared the thoughtful message online.

The letter, written by Braden McManus, praised the business and wished the team success, thanking them for bringing quality cheesesteaks to the area and helping make the community a better place. The heartfelt note quickly caught attention for its sincerity and kindness.

In response, Gazzo’s Steaks publicly thanked Braden’s parents for raising such a respectful young man and invited Braden and his family to enjoy dinner on the house.

The exchange has become a feel-good reminder of how small gestures can make a big impact on local businesses and the community.

We here at Pottstown Local Scoop might have to go in and introduce ourselves as ‘Braden McManus’…😂

In all seriousness though, way to go Braden!

Suspect Arrested in Fatal Pottstown Stabbing

Authorities have arrested a man accused in a fatal stabbing in Pottstown that occurred Wednesday afternoon on Walnut Street.

According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Ryan Grace, 37, was taken into custody Thursday after police received information about his location shortly after announcing a reward tied to the case.

Investigators allege Grace fatally stabbed Shaquille Kare Nicholas, 33, during an argument inside a bedroom at a residence in the 300 block of Walnut Street. Police say the incident happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials noted that tips from the public quickly helped lead investigators to the suspect’s whereabouts. Grace has been charged with first-degree murder and related offenses.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Mini Golf Fundraiser Supports

Mental Health Awareness

The Borough of Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department is encouraging residents to take part in two community events happening this Saturday, both focused on supporting local causes and celebrating the arts.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Manatawny Green Miniature Golf will host the “Putt Past the Stigma” fundraiser, benefiting NAMI Montgomery County through support from the Pottstown High School Trojans. Participants can enjoy mini golf for $10 per golfer, with proceeds going toward mental health advocacy and support services.

Later in the day, the community can head to Riverfront Park, 140 College Drive, for the Spring Pottstown Arts in the Park event from noon to 4 p.m. The event, presented in collaboration with Pottstown Community Arts, will feature local art, creativity and family-friendly activities.

Organizers say both events offer meaningful ways for residents to support the community while enjoying a fun Saturday in Pottstown.
