$6,000 Homebuyer Grant

Hobart’s Run is encouraging prospective homebuyers to act quickly as a limited-time opportunity for financial assistance is nearing its deadline.

Through a partnership with the Pottstown Regional Community Foundation, qualified buyers can receive a $6,000 Homeowner Incentive Program (HIP) grant toward the purchase of a home within Pottstown’s Equitable Transit-Oriented Development (ETOD) District or the Hobart’s Run neighborhood.

To be eligible, settlement must occur on or before June 30, making timing a key factor for interested buyers. In addition to the grant, participants in the program will also receive free financial literacy and homeownership training through the Tri County Area Federal Credit Union.

Organizers say the initiative is aimed at strengthening the community by encouraging homeownership, supporting local investment and contributing to neighborhood growth.

Star Wars Night Returns to Fightin Phils Ballpark

The Reading Fightin Phils are inviting fans to celebrate Star Wars Night at the ballpark on Saturday, May 9, combining baseball with a galaxy of themed entertainment.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite characters and enjoy a night filled with Star Wars-themed activities throughout the game. The evening will conclude with a MEGA Blast fireworks show, adding to the excitement.

Organizers say the event is designed to bring fans together for a fun, family-friendly experience both on and off the field.

Juston McKinney Brings Stand-Up to Pottstown

Comedian Juston McKinney is set to perform at SoulJoel’s at SunnyBrook in Pottstown on Sunday, May 3, bringing his nationally recognized stand-up to a more intimate local stage.

The show begins at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $20 for general admission and $30 for preferred seating closer to the stage. The venue will offer a full bar and free parking for attendees.

McKinney, known for appearances on The Tonight Show and multiple Amazon Prime comedy specials, has built a reputation for his relatable, everyday humor. Events like this give audiences a chance to see a nationally touring comedian in a smaller setting, offering a more personal and engaging experience than larger venues.

Healthy Shake Shop Fresh Monkee Opens

New Location in North Coventry

The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Fresh Monkee North Coventry, welcoming a new health-focused business to the Pottstown area.

Located at 72 Glocker Way, Fresh Monkee specializes in made-to-order protein shakes crafted from natural ingredients, including fruits, vegetables, nut butters and clean protein sources. The brand, founded in 2014, emphasizes nutrition without artificial additives, offering options that are high in protein and fiber while low in sugar. Vegan and gluten-free choices are also available.

With more than 20 locations nationwide, Fresh Monkee continues to expand its presence, offering convenient, healthy options for meals, snacks and post-workout recovery.

Local leaders highlighted the opening as a positive addition to the community, supporting both wellness and local economic growth.

Rivet Joins Pottstown

Nights Car Show Festivities

Rivet: Canteen & Assembly is inviting the community to stop by during the upcoming Pottstown Nights Car Show on Saturday, May 2 from 3 to 9 p.m.

Located at 238 E. High Street, Rivet will feature specialty drinks served in take-home cups along with a selection of snack offerings prepared by Cake For Breakfast by Mimi. The event coincides with the car show, sponsored by the Red Horse Motoring Club, creating a lively atmosphere in the downtown area.

Organizers say it’s a great opportunity to enjoy food, drinks and community fun alongside the evening’s car show festivities.
