A new food event is coming to Pottstown as the Greater Philadelphia Cheesesteak Festival makes its debut at SoulJoel’s at SunnyBrook on Sunday, April 26 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The festival will bring together a variety of cheesesteak vendors from across the Delaware Valley, along with other Philadelphia favorites such as donuts, water ice and soft pretzels. Live music and additional food and drink options will also be available throughout the day.
Admission tickets are priced at $40 and include five sample tickets, each redeemable for a cheesesteak tasting from participating vendors. A spectator pass is also available for $10, allowing entry without included food samples. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
The event will take place at 50 Sunnybrook Road and will feature free parking and a full bar. Organizers describe the festival as a celebration of regional food culture, highlighting some of the area’s most iconic flavors.
Route 422 Lane Closures Set for April 27–May 1

Drivers traveling along U.S. Route 422 should prepare for lane closures and delays next week as PennDOT schedules roadway work in the area.
The closures will take place April 27 through May 1 between Evergreen Road in Sanatoga and Hanover Street. Westbound lanes will be affected from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., while eastbound closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes, as congestion is expected. Officials also note that the schedule is weather dependent and may change.
D.L. Hughley Returns to SoulJoel’s
for Four Shows

Comedian D.L. Hughley is set to return to SoulJoel’s at SunnyBrook in Pottstown for a series of four performances across two nights.
Shows are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25, with performances at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. each night. Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime. Tickets are priced at $40 for general admission and $50 for preferred seating, with a meet-and-greet add-on available.
Hughley is a nationally recognized comedian, radio host and author, known for his work in stand-up, television and film. He has released multiple comedy specials and books, and gained widespread recognition as part of the “Kings of Comedy” tour. His current radio show reaches audiences across the country, and his work continues to span entertainment and commentary.
The venue, located at 50 Sunnybrook Road, will offer food and drinks before, during and after the shows, with dining available through Gatsby’s Pub.
Clint Black Brings Tour to Santander Arena

Country music star Clint Black is set to take the stage at the Santander Performing Arts Center on April 24, 2026, as part of his “Back On The Blacktop Tour.”
The concert begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to experience a live performance from one of country music’s most accomplished artists, known for blending traditional sounds with a modern edge.
With a career spanning more than three decades, Black has sold over 20 million records and achieved 22 No. 1 singles, along with numerous awards including a Grammy and multiple CMA and ACM honors. His influence continues to shape the genre, and his upcoming album, “Out of Sane,” reflects his commitment to creating music that stays true to his roots while evolving with the times.
Tickets for the event are currently available, with additional upgrades offered for an enhanced concert experience.
Free Paper Shredding Event Set for May 2

State Rep. Joe Ciresi is inviting residents to take advantage of a free paper shredding event in Pottstown on May 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be held at Pottstown High School, 750 N. Washington Street, with the shredding truck located in the gymnasium parking lot. Attendees should enter via Hale or Franklin streets and follow posted directions.
The service is designed to help individuals safely dispose of sensitive documents, such as old tax records and personal paperwork. To ensure availability for all, there is a limit of four large bags or boxes per vehicle, and materials like binder clips, books, CDs and trash should be removed beforehand.
The event will run until 2 p.m. or until the truck reaches capacity. Officials note that the service is intended for residential use only, not businesses.
