CHDC Hosts Community Baby Shower
for Local Families

Community Health & Dental Care (CHDC), in partnership with Family Services of Montgomery County, recently hosted its 3rd Annual Community Baby Shower, bringing together local families for an afternoon of support and celebration.
The event focused on expecting and new mothers, offering access to community resources, baby essentials and educational support. Attendees also had the opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals, including a pediatric case manager and OB/GYN nurse, who provided guidance throughout the event.
Organizers highlighted the importance of creating a welcoming space where families feel supported during their parenting journey. The event was made possible through collaboration with community partners, with Montgomery County Community College providing the venue and Pottstown Hospital – Tower Health sponsoring lunch.
Salvation Army Encourages Spring Donations

With the arrival of spring, the Salvation Army of Pottstown is encouraging residents to take part in seasonal cleaning by donating gently used clothing and household items.
Donations can be dropped off at designated collection bins located in the organization’s parking lot, helping support local thrift operations and community programs.
For those outside the immediate area, additional drop-off locations are available throughout the region.
Pottstown Students Earn Top Honors
at Reading Olympics

A group of 5th grade students from Pottstown Middle School is being recognized for an outstanding achievement at the Montgomery County Reading Olympics.
The team earned a Green Ribbon, the highest honor awarded in the competition, after correctly answering 49 out of 60 questions. The accomplishment reflects a strong commitment to reading, teamwork and preparation.

School officials praised the students for their dedication and encouraged the community to celebrate their success.
Pottstown Roller Mills Closes
After 301-Year Legacy

After more than three centuries in operation, Pottstown Roller Mills has officially closed its doors, marking the end of an era for one of the region’s most historic businesses.
Founded in 1725, the mill stood as one of the oldest operating businesses in the United States, originally serving early settlers in the area. Located near the Schuylkill River and Manatawny Creek, it later played a role in American history by supplying flour to the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
Owned by the Saylor family, the business remained a staple in the community for generations, ultimately reaching an incredible 301 years of service. As operations came to a close, the family expressed gratitude for the decades of support from loyal customers.
The closing leaves behind not only an empty storefront, but a lasting legacy rooted in history, tradition and community connection.
