Borough Announces Plans to Replace All Parking Meters with Wawa Hoagie Dispensers

In a stunning move that has left residents both confused and hungry, Pottstown Borough Council unanimously voted yesterday to replace all parking meters on High Street with state-of-the-art Wawa hoagie dispensers, effective April 1. Sources say the decision came after an emergency session at which Council member Jenkins allegedly said, "Why not make parking delicious?"
The new system will work just like traditional meters—residents will "feed" the dispenser coins, and instead of a parking ticket, they'll receive a Classic Italian hoagie, a turkey sandwich, or a selection of refreshing beverages. "It's a win-win," one council member explained, before pausing awkwardly. The plan has already generated both excitement and concern among downtown business owners, though most agreed that free hoagies wouldn't hurt foot traffic.
Happy April Fools' Day, Pottstown! • While we can't promise hoagie dispensers (yet), we CAN promise to keep bringing you the real scoop every day.
Trout Season Opens April 4th
Across Pennsylvania

Anglers across Pennsylvania are preparing for the opening day of trout season, set for Saturday, April 4 at 8 a.m.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has stocked approximately 3.2 million adult trout in waterways statewide, providing strong opportunities for fishing enthusiasts throughout the region.

Residents planning to participate are reminded that anyone 16 years or older must have both a valid fishing license and a trout permit.
Officials encourage anglers to review stocking schedules online to identify popular and recently stocked locations, including waterways near the Pottstown area.
