Pottstown AI Entrepreneurs to Lead Workshop at Penn State’s Global Entrepreneurship Week

POTTSTOWN, Pa. — Two entrepreneurs at the forefront of local artificial intelligence innovation are set to share their expertise during Penn State’s Global Entrepreneurship Week this November. Drew Griffin and David Calafiore, co-founders of AskSpot.ai and SendPush.io, will headline a special event designed to demystify AI for local businesses and entrepreneurs.
The session, scheduled for Tuesday, November 18 from 6 to 8 p.m., will feature both a presentation and an interactive workshop under the theme: “AI to Grow Smarter Systems for Leads, Marketing & Saving Time.” The program aims to equip attendees with practical tools for using AI to streamline operations, enhance marketing efforts, and optimize lead generation strategies.
Targeted at small business owners, startup founders, and members of the broader community, the workshop promises a hands-on introduction to emerging technologies that are increasingly accessible beyond Silicon Valley. The event aligns with a growing trend of AI adoption among small and mid-sized enterprises seeking to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving digital marketplace.
The participation of Griffin and Calafiore marks a highlight in the week-long series hosted by Penn State, which celebrates innovation and entrepreneurship through panels, workshops, and networking opportunities. Their appearance is part of a wider regional effort to offer ongoing AI-centric programming aimed at equipping businesses of all sizes with forward-looking strategies for sustainable growth.
Griffin and Calafiore’s ventures—AskSpot.ai and SendPush.io—serve as practical examples of AI’s expanding utility. AskSpot.ai provides custom chatbot solutions to enhance customer engagement and automate daily operations for local businesses and marketing agencies. Meanwhile, SendPush.io leverages mobile wallet pass technology to facilitate timely, location-based push notifications, offering businesses a direct line of communication with their customers.
As AI continues to influence nearly every sector of the economy, initiatives like these underscore the importance of making advanced tools accessible and actionable at the local level.
Phillies End Regular Season with Win
as Turner, Schwarber Shine
The Philadelphia Phillies ended their regular season with a 2-1 extra-inning win over the Minnesota Twins, highlighted by standout campaigns from Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber. Turner captured his second NL batting title with a .304 average, while Schwarber led the league with 56 home runs and 132 RBIs. As the NL East champions prepare to host Game 1 of the Division Series on Saturday, left-hander Cristopher Sánchez is set to take the mound following a strong final start.

Sweet and Spooky Sundae Social

Ghostbusters-Themed Sundae Social Brings Sweet Nostalgia to Boyertown
BOYERTOWN, Pa. — A beloved corner candy shop in Boyertown is set to host a spirited gathering blending classic film fandom with ice cream indulgence. On Friday, October 3, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., The Peppermint Stick Candy Store will partner with the Ghostbusters: Southeast Pennsylvania Division to present the “Stay Puft Sundae Social.”
Located at 26 E. Philadelphia Avenue, the event promises a festive evening of themed desserts, family-friendly entertainment, and interactive photo opportunities with uniformed Ghostbusters on site. Organizers anticipate strong community turnout, with more than 60 attendees already having responded to early invitations.
Guests can expect a selection of special menu items, including Ghostbusters-inspired sundaes and sodas. Headlining the offerings is the oversized “Stay Puft Sundae,” a nod to the iconic marshmallow villain from the original 1984 film — a treat designed to match the event's playful tone and nostalgic appeal.
The gathering is part of a growing trend of local businesses collaborating with fan organizations to create immersive, themed experiences that bridge generations. Costumed Ghostbusters will mingle with visitors, bringing a sense of cinematic fantasy to the historic borough for one evening only.
Open to the public and suitable for all ages, the event invites families, film buffs, and anyone with a sweet tooth to join in the fun — where busting ghosts pairs perfectly with scooping sundaes.
