Mike Recine to Headline The Dirty Show

at SoulJoel’s in Pottstown

Comedian Mike Recine is set to bring his sharp-edged humor to SoulJoel’s Comedy Club this fall with a performance of The Dirty Show. The event, scheduled for tonight, Saturday, September 6, 2025, will mark Recine’s first appearance at the popular venue on SunnyBrook Road.

Doors open at 8:45 p.m., with the show beginning at 9 p.m. Attendees can take advantage of complimentary parking, a full-service bar, and dining options at Gatsby’s Pub, located inside the complex.

Tickets start at $10 for general admission, while preferred seating in the first 75 spots is available for $20. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.

Recine, a New York–based comedian, has built a reputation for his fearless style and incisive wit. He has appeared on Conan and earned a half-hour special on Comedy Central. His television credits include roles on Showtime’s Flatbush Misdemeanors and HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay.

Known for his connections to some of the comedy world’s most recognizable names, Recine has shared stages and collaborated with performers such as Shane Gillis, Michael Che, Ilana Glazer, and Michelle Wolf. His debut at SoulJoel’s is expected to draw fans eager to experience his unfiltered approach to stand-up.

Retro Con 2025 Brings Nostalgia to

Oaks With Toys, Guests, and Cosplay

Fans of pop culture nostalgia will gather this fall for Retro Con 2025, a two-day convention dedicated to vintage collectibles and entertainment. The event will return to Hall A of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center on September 6 and 7, offering more than 67,000 square feet of show space, expanded to over 80,000 square feet with additional areas for panels and programming.

More than 300 vendor tables will feature toys, games, comics, and memorabilia spanning decades of fan favorites, from Transformers, G.I. Joe and He-Man to Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and ThunderCats. Collectors can also expect an array of video and board games, trading cards, LEGO sets, wrestling memorabilia, model kits, and original artwork.

The convention will extend beyond merchandise with a full schedule of activities, including celebrity guest appearances, panel discussions, contests, raffles, and costumed cosplay. Television and film replica vehicles will also be on display, adding to the immersive atmosphere.

Admission is set at $20 per day at the door, or $33 for a weekend pass purchased in advance, with no added fees. Children under 12 may attend free with a paying adult, and parking at the expo center is complimentary.

Organizers describe Retro Con as a more affordable alternative to larger fan conventions, inviting attendees to experience the event at their own pace — whether browsing collectibles, participating in contests, or simply enjoying the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. Guest announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $1.8 Billion, Second-Highest on Record

The Powerball jackpot has swelled to an estimated $1.8 billion ahead of Saturday’s drawing, ranking as the second-largest prize in the game’s history.

The jackpot has grown steadily after more than 40 consecutive drawings failed to produce a winner since May 31. Under the game’s rules, when no one matches all six numbers, the prize rolls over, leading to ballooning payouts.

The odds of winning the grand prize are exceptionally slim — about one in 292.2 million — a design feature that ensures jackpots often climb to record-breaking levels. Powerball drawings are held three times each week.

The top prize of $2.04 billion was claimed in California in 2022, making it the only jackpot larger than the one now at stake.

The $1.8 billion figure reflects the annuity option, which pays winners in 30 installments over 29 years. Most winners, however, opt for the lump-sum payout, which in this case would be an estimated $826.4 million.

Powerball tickets cost $2 and are available in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
