Teen's Fireworks Spark Blaze That

Damaged Pottstown Homes

A fire that severely damaged two homes in Pottstown in June has been traced back to a teenage boy who ignited fireworks at the rear of the property. The blaze caused $100,000 in damages. State fire officials confirmed the cause and continue to handle the case through juvenile channels.

Robbery in Pottstown Leaves One Injured

as Police Arrest Armed Suspect

A Pottstown man was arrested following a robbery that led to a non-fatal shooting in the Rosedale section of the borough. Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found a man shot in the legs. The suspect, Michael Alexander, was later apprehended after fleeing through neighborhood yards. A stolen firearm was recovered, and multiple charges have been filed against Alexander.

FDA Restricts COVID-19 Vaccine Access

to High-Risk Groups

taking sinovac covid-19 vaccination injection

Federal regulators have approved new COVID-19 vaccines but have significantly narrowed eligibility, limiting access to high-risk individuals and removing Pfizer’s shot for children under five. The updated vaccines target a newer virus strain, but logistical challenges and cost barriers could complicate distribution. The policy shift, driven by the current administration’s reevaluation of broad vaccination strategies, reflects a more restrictive national stance on COVID-19 prevention.
