PennDOT Begins Final Stretch of U.S. 422 Overhaul with Lane Closures

Pennsylvania’s Transportation Department has announced a fresh phase in the much‑anticipated overhaul of U.S. Route 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township. Beginning Monday, August 25, and extending through Thursday, August 28, drivers heading westbound will encounter intermittent lane restrictions between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges, with closures scheduled from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Simultaneously, eastbound travelers will face periodic lane closures between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga, running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

This comes as part of an $83.6 million effort to reconstruct a 2.1‑mile segment of the expressway and replace bridges spanning from the Sanatoga interchange to Porter Road. With weather allowing, all segments of work will move forward, though drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan accordingly

Marchan accounted for all three runs scored, while Suárez’s control and deception overwhelmed Washington’s youth-dominated lineup. The bullpen, particularly Tanner Banks, preserved the narrow lead despite late pressure.

Eagles Trade for Sam Howell to Shore

Up Depth Amid McKee Injury

The Philadelphia Eagles have traded for quarterback Sam Howell from the Vikings on August 24, 2025, surrendering two mid-to-late-round future draft picks (2026 fifth-round, 2027 seventh-round) in exchange for Howell and a 2026 sixth-round selection.

The move comes in response to Tanner McKee’s finger injury, providing the Eagles with a reliable backup for Jalen Hurts. Meanwhile, Minnesota responded by signing veteran quarterback Carson Wentz to back up their rookie starter. Howell brings moderate NFL experience but has struggled with consistency, reflected in a near-even touchdown-to-interception ratio and a modest passer rating.

SoulJoel’s Hosts Benefit Show for
To Love a Canine Rescue

SoulJoel’s Comedy Club will host a benefit event in support of animal welfare on Thursday, August 28, as it welcomes guests to a comedy fundraiser for To Love a Canine Rescue (TLC). The show will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., at SoulJoel’s venue on Sunnybrook Road in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

General admission is priced at $20, while a limited number of preferred seats—the 50 closest to the stage—are available for $30. In addition to the evening’s entertainment, guests are encouraged to dine at Gatsby’s Pub, located within the venue. Ten percent of dinner bills between 4:00 and 6:30 p.m. will be donated directly to the rescue organization.
