Pottstown Officer Shot
During Domestic Disturbance

On Friday, November 15, 2024, a Pottstown police officer was shot while responding to a domestic disturbance at an apartment on Chestnut Street. Officers initially addressed a domestic dispute but were called back later when the woman involved reported that 42-year-old William Ciccoli Jr. had grabbed her by the neck.

During the attempted arrest, Ciccoli charged at a police corporal and tried to seize the officer's gun from its holster, resulting in the firearm discharging and wounding the corporal in the right hip. The injured officer underwent surgery and was in stable condition. Ciccoli faces charges including attempted murder of a police officer, aggravated assault, and disarming an officer.

Book Sale a Big Success

The Pottstown Regional Public Library was bustling with activity as the Friends of the Library hosted their first book sale since the pandemic. The event attracted a lively crowd, eager to browse through a wide selection of books and find fantastic bargains.

The book sale not only offered residents the chance to stock up on reading material but also provided an opportunity to support the library's programs and initiatives. The community's enthusiastic participation and generosity made the day a resounding success.
