Steel River Playhouse Seeks Storage Space

for Set Materials

Steel River Playhouse is seeking assistance from the community to secure storage space for their stock of platforms, furniture, and lumber. Ideally, they are looking for a warehouse, storefront, or barn within 15 to 30 minutes of the playhouse. The preferred storage dimensions are 40x40, but they are open to any available options. They hope to move into the space by the end of October.

The playhouse is asking the public to help spread the word and provide leads. If you have any ideas or know of available space, please reach out to their Executive Director, Alec Williams, at [email protected]. Steel River appreciates all suggestions and support in this search.

Pottstown Carousel Receives $50K Grant

for Accessibility Improvements

The Carousel at Pottstown received a $50,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to fund renovations, including an ADA-accessible entrance and window replacements. State Rep. Joe Ciresi helped secure the grant to improve accessibility and support the continued restoration of the historic landmark.

Coffee with a Cop: Lower Pottsgrove Invites Residents to Open Discussion

The Lower Pottsgrove Township Police Department will be hosting a "Coffee with a Cop" event on Saturday, November 2, 2024, inviting local residents to engage with officers in an informal setting. Taking place at Brookside Family Restaurant, located at 1338 N. Charlotte St, Pottstown, PA, this gathering starts at 8:00 a.m. and is open to all members of the community.

The goal of Coffee with a Cop is to provide a relaxed environment for residents to meet local officers, ask questions, raise concerns, and learn more about police efforts in their township and borough. Events like this help build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community by offering a space outside of emergency or high-stress situations for open dialogue.

These gatherings are part of a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services. Police departments across the country are participating in similar events, striving to create long-term connections with the communities they serve. For more information, community members can reach out to Lieutenant William James at (267) 772-9508 or via email at [email protected].
