Reading, PA, is preparing for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s rally at the Santander Arena on Wednesday. Local authorities are closing key streets like Penn Street, and state police are warning of traffic delays in Berks and Lehigh counties. The event is prompting increased coordination among city officials, law enforcement, and the Reading Parking Authority. The arena opens to the public at 3 p.m., with Trump speaking at 7 p.m.

Upper Pottsgrove Man Halts Sentencing, Withdraws Guilty Plea in Stolen Gun Case

Lady Justice.

Nickolas O. Newton, a man from Upper Pottsgrove Township, paused his sentencing hearing by expressing doubts about his earlier guilty plea to charges of possessing a stolen handgun. The judge allowed Newton to withdraw the plea, rescheduling his trial for October 15. Newton, 29, was stopped by police in October 2022, and a stolen firearm was found in his vehicle. He faces a possible prison sentence of more than ten years if convicted.

Brown, Smith Expected Back for Eagles

After Injuries; Johnson "Good to Go"

The Eagles are set to have wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith back for their Week 6 game against the Browns. Brown has been out since Week 2 due to a hamstring injury, while Smith has been recovering from a concussion sustained in Week 3. The duo's return should bolster the Eagles' offense. Lane Johnson is also expected to play after recovering from a concussion.
