Gazzo's Steaks Celebrates Two Years of Success and Community Impact

Congratulations on the two-year anniversary for Gazzo's Steaks, a local favorite that has quickly become a community staple. Over the past two years, Gazzo's Steaks has welcomed countless patrons from near and far, building lasting relationships and receiving an outpouring of support. The business has grown steadily with a focus on what matters most to its customers.

Since opening in 2022, Gazzo's Steaks has made a significant impact on the community by donating over $75,000 to local shelters, charities, schools, and athletic programs. This dedication to giving back is just the beginning, with more contributions planned for the future. The team extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of their journey so far.

Celebrate Octoberfest in Pottstown:
Live Music, Fall Brews, and German Fare

This Sunday, October 6th, from 1 to 7 PM, the Iron Gate Biergarten in Historic Downtown Pottstown will host its annual Octoberfest celebration. The event marks the highly anticipated return of Caveman Dave, performing Original Folk and Americana music from 1 to 4 PM, following a five-year absence from the area. Caveman Dave has previously graced stages at the Philadelphia Folk Festival and the Oregon Country Fair, making his return to Pottstown a special occasion.

From 4 to 7 PM, local artist Jim Kane will keep the festivities going with his live performance. In addition to the music, attendees can indulge in a selection of fall brews, specialty drinks, and delicious food provided by Grumpy's. The menu includes bratwurst and sauerkraut, a German pot roast sandwich, a Dutchy tray with pickled vegetables, German beer cheese with pretzel nuggets, and a hearty potato soup.

Unleashed Counseling Hosts Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony This Friday in Pottstown

Unleashed Counseling, in partnership with the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, invites the community to its official ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday, October 4th, from 12 PM to 1 PM. The event will take place at 1800 E. High St., Suite 100, in Pottstown, PA.

Attendees are welcome to enjoy light refreshments, take a tour of Unleashed Counseling’s private nature trail, and experience free mini-reiki sessions. Visitors will also have the chance to meet Clover, the therapy dog, while learning more about Unleashed Counseling’s unique approach to therapy, which goes beyond traditional methods. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be led by the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce.

October Clothing Drive for
Hope Rescue Mission and Lighthouse Center

Help support the Hope Rescue Mission and the Lighthouse Women and Children Center by donating clothing throughout the month of October. A donation box will be placed by the Boyertown Community Library’s circulation desk, where you can drop off your contributions.

The clothing collected will provide essential resources such as food, clothing, and shelter to the men at Hope Rescue Mission and the women and children at Lighthouse. Donations of all kinds are welcome, including shoes, belts, hats, scarves, gloves, purses, and coats, as well as seasonal clothing for men, women, and children.

Former Pottstown Resident Faces Prison Time for Attempted Bank Robbery

Former Pottstown resident Sylvester West, now living in Norristown, awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to attempting to rob a bank in December 2023. West, 66, faces a potential sentence of 5 to 10 years. The robbery attempt failed when an employee informed him there was no money, and West fled the scene. Surveillance footage led to his identification and arrest.

Kurt Metzger Returns to Pottstown’s
SoulJoel’s for October 4th Show

Kurt Metzger is returning to SoulJoel’s this Friday, October 4th, for an evening of comedy. Doors open at 6 PM, with the show starting at 7 PM at 50 Sunnybrook Road in Pottstown, PA. General admission tickets are available for $20, with VIP options for $30. Guests can enjoy food before or after the show at Gatsby’s Pub, and drinks will be served before, during, and after the performance.

A Philadelphia native, Metzger is a talented writer and stand-up comedian who started his career alongside Kevin Hart and Big Jay Oakerson. After gaining recognition in Philadelphia, Metzger moved to New York, performing at top comedy clubs like the Comedy Cellar and Caroline’s on Broadway. His standout performance at Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival in the ‘New Faces’ showcase helped cement his reputation in the comedy world.

Metzger has made appearances on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, VH1’s Best Week Ever, CBS’s The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and Showtime’s White Boyz in the Hood. He also lent his voice to the character Randall Skeffington in Comedy Central’s animated series Ugly Americans and has written for Chappelle’s Show and the Comedy Central Roast series. His Comedy Central special White Precious and album Kurt Metzger Talks To Young People About Sex were both well-received by critics and fans alike. Metzger currently lives in Los Angeles.
