The Pottstown Play Streets series continues this summer, providing a safe space for children and community members to connect. Join us on August 1 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM EDT at Spruce Street Park for an evening of fun, information, and activities.
The Community Health and Development Corporation (CHDC) will be present, offering resources and engaging activities. These events temporarily close neighborhood blocks to traffic, creating safe, fun, and healthy public spaces.
This initiative, organized by the Play Streets Coalition, encourages kids of all ages to be active by providing free play equipment and setting up outreach tables. It's a perfect opportunity for families and neighbors to connect, play, and learn right outside their doors.

Former Union Midfielder Paxten Aaronson Nets First Olympic Goal
Former Philadelphia Union midfielder Paxten Aaronson scored his first goal of the competition as the U.S. men's national team defeated New Zealand 4-1 in their second group game at the 2024 Olympics.
Aaronson found the net in the 58th minute when substitute forward Griffin Yow ran down the left flank and cut the ball back to him. Aaronson turned and fired with his left foot, the shot deflecting past the goalkeeper.
The 20-year-old, who recently transferred from Philadelphia to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt and is currently on loan to Vitesse and Utrecht, continues to make a name for himself on the international stage.
With the Union senior team in 2021-22, Aaronson scored four goals in 37 appearances. He will be back in action as the U.S. faces Guinea on Tuesday for a chance to advance to the knockout stages.
Phillies Face Tough Schedule Ahead, Harper Stresses Need for Wins

On "Schwarbomb Beach Towel Day," Kyle Schwarber hit two home runs, but the Phillies' offense faltered, leading to a 4-3 loss to the Cleveland Guardians. This marked their fourth consecutive series loss and eighth loss in the last 12 games.
Bryce Harper candidly assessed the team's performance, admitting, "It hasn’t been good. We’ve just got to get better, turn the page, and try to have a better series against the Yankees."
Despite his self-criticism, Harper homered in the previous day's 8-0 victory. As a key leader, he knows the importance of stepping up during this turbulent phase.
Manager Rob Thomson emphasized the need to regain their early-season form, focusing on playing consistently well on all fronts. Harper highlighted the tough upcoming schedule against the Yankees, Seattle, LA, and Arizona, stressing that superstars need to lead the way.
