U.S. 422 Construction to Cause
Major Delays This Week

Traffic cone

This week, June 3rd-7th, significant lane closures and delays are expected on U.S. 422 due to ongoing construction. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be working on a major $83.6 million project aimed at reconstructing and improving 2.1 miles of the expressway, including bridge replacements between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.

The construction schedule is as follows:

- Westbound U.S. 422: Lane closures from Evergreen Road to Armand Hammer Boulevard, Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for shoulder reconstruction.

- Eastbound U.S. 422: Lane closures from Keim Street to Evergreen Road, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for roadway reconstruction.

- Sanatoga Road: Lane closures between Linfield Road and High Street, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for bridge construction.

Motorists should anticipate delays and plan extra travel time. The work schedule is dependent on weather conditions.

Upper Pottsgrove Man Awaits Sentencing After Admitting to
Child Porn Charges

Lady Justice background.

An Upper Pottsgrove Township man, Aaron Jamal Lattimore-El, 21, admitted to possessing child pornography and remains in jail awaiting formal sentencing later this year. Lattimore-El, residing in the 1300 block of Windsor Court, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court to multiple felony charges related to incidents from 2023.

Judge Thomas M. DelRicci has deferred sentencing to allow the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board to evaluate whether Lattimore-El qualifies as a sexually violent predator. This classification would subject him to stricter restrictions during parole or probation. Additionally, Lattimore-El must undergo a psychosexual evaluation before sentencing.

Lattimore-El, who remains in county jail without bail, faces up to four years in prison. Regardless of the sentence, he must report his address to state police for 15 years, complying with Pennsylvania’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act.

The investigation began on June 26, 2023, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted detectives to a report from Dropbox about an attempt to share a digital file appearing to be child pornography. The Dropbox account was linked to Lattimore-El’s internet and email address. Detectives found a folder with 99 video files and 40 image files depicting child pornography.

In an interview in October 2023, Lattimore-El admitted to creating the Dropbox account but denied knowledge of the files. Detectives also seized and analyzed his cellphone, finding that the files had been moved to a deleted folder but were still accessible.

Charges of dissemination of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility are set to be dismissed at sentencing. The prosecution was handled by Assistant District Attorney Margot S. Weitz, with defense lawyer Mark Damian Hauser representing Lattimore-El.

Hoskins Homers in Emotional Return,
But Phillies Prevail 3-1

Phillies

In a thrilling opener of a three-game series between National League division leaders, the Philadelphia Phillies triumphed over the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1 on Monday night. Rhys Hoskins, returning to Citizens Bank Park, hit a solo homer for the Brewers, while David Dahl shined in his Phillies debut with a home run of his own, backing a strong performance from pitcher Zack Wheeler.

Key Moments and Highlights:

Early Lead for Phillies: In the second inning, Edmundo Sosa and Johan Rojas delivered consecutive RBI singles, giving the Phillies an early advantage.

Wheeler's Dominance: Zack Wheeler (7-3) pitched seven impressive innings, allowing just five hits and three walks, while striking out six batters.

Hoskins' Emotional Return: Former Phillies player Rhys Hoskins, received with a standing ovation, hit his 10th home run of the season in the seventh inning off a 2-1 fastball from Wheeler.

Player Insights:

Hoskins' Sentiment: Reflecting on his return, Hoskins expressed his emotional connection to Philadelphia and the fans.

Additional Notes:

Defensive Play: Hoskins made an unexpected steal in the fifth inning but was later tagged out at home by Rojas on a hit by Blake Perkins.

Upcoming Games: The series continues with Phillies' LHP Cristopher Sanchez (3-3, 2.83 ERA) facing Brewers' Jared Koenig (5-1, 2.05 ERA) in the next game.

Union's Home Winless Streak Continues with 2-2 Draw Against Montreal

Philadelphia Union

The Philadelphia Union's struggle at home continued with a 2-2 draw against CF Montreal, extending their winless streak at Subaru Park to six games. This 0-2-4 run is the second-worst home streak in the team's history. Despite their unbeaten road record in MLS, the Union have found it challenging to secure victories on their home turf.

The match started poorly for the Union, conceding a goal to Sunusi Ibrahim within the first minute. Despite dominating possession, the Union's efforts seemed ineffective, especially without key player Julian Carranza. Daniel Gazdag had a goal disallowed for offside, and it took until the 45th minute for Montreal's Ariel Lassiter to receive a red card, giving the Union a numerical advantage.

In the 56th minute, Gazdag scored from the penalty spot after a foul on him by Montreal's goalkeeper. Just two minutes later, Mikael Uhre gave the Union the lead, capitalizing on a mistake by Montreal. However, the momentum shifted again when Union defender Jack Elliott received a red card in the 63rd minute for a foul on Raheem Edwards, who was stretchered off the field.

Montreal's Samuel Piette equalized in the 66th minute, and despite several attempts, the Union couldn't regain the lead. Goalkeeper Sebastian Breza made eight saves for Montreal, frustrating the Union's offense. The match ended with a sense of missed opportunities for the Union, who continue to seek their first home win.
