Major Traffic Delays Expected on U.S. 422 Due to Construction Next Week

Next week, construction on U.S. 422 in Montgomery County will cause significant traffic delays. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is undertaking an $83.6 million project to improve a 2.1-mile stretch between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road. From May 28 to May 31, lane closures will occur daily, affecting both westbound and eastbound traffic. Additional lane closures with flagging will be in place on Sanatoga Road. Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly. The project aims to enhance safety and travel by reconstructing the roadway and bridges, including better curve radii, wider shoulders, and increased vertical clearance.
