and New Policy on Transgender
Athlete Participation

The Pottstown Rumble Volleyball Tournament has announced key dates and a new policy for this year’s event registration and transgender athlete participation. Registration kicks off on May 1st at 7pm EST, exclusively for Friday’s matches. Continues on May 2nd and 3rd for Saturday and Sunday games respectively, also at 7pm EST. Participants are advised to hold off on securing their AVP memberships until further notice, hinting at a potential special offer related to the Rumble event.
In a significant policy update, the tournament organizers have introduced a new rule regarding transgender athletes. Specifically, transgender women who transitioned after male puberty are now ineligible to compete in the women’s category across all disciplines and divisions of the event.

Get Ready for Pottstown's GoFourth Festival: Merch Sales, Shred Event,

The Pottstown GoFourth Festival is swiftly approaching, with just three months left until the town's grandest celebration. Organizers are bustling with preparations, promising an array of exciting activities and exclusive merchandise that is sure to captivate attendees. To support the festival, a series of fundraising events have been planned, kicking off with a merchandise sale at Redner's on Charlotte Street on Saturday, April 20. Attendees can look forward to snapping up stylish t-shirts and hats, getting a taste of the festival spirit ahead of time.
Following this, the Borough of Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department will host a shred event at Smith Plaza on Saturday, May 4, from 9:30 to 11:30 am. This event offers the community a chance to securely dispose of confidential documents, with a $10 suggested donation to aid the festival's funding. The fundraising efforts will culminate in a vibrant kickoff at the Iron Gate Biergarten on Sunday, June 2, from 1 to 4 pm. The event will feature a highly competitive basket raffle, adding an element of anticipation and excitement among the community members. These events not only serve as a buildup to the festival but also as a way for the community to contribute to and become a part of Pottstown's biggest party.

Expect Delays: U.S. 422 Construction Continues in Montgomery County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has made an announcement regarding the ongoing construction on U.S. 422 in Montgomery County, set to continue into the next week. Motorists traveling through the area can expect several travel restrictions aimed at facilitating shoulder reconstruction and clearing efforts. These restrictions include:
A single lane closure on the westbound side of U.S. 422, stretching from Evergreen Road to Armand Hammer Boulevard, scheduled from Monday, April 8, to Thursday, April 11, between the hours of 5:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
Lane closures on the eastbound side of U.S. 422, from Keim Street to Evergreen Road, which will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM the following morning, across the same dates.
Additionally, drivers should be prepared for intermittent 15-minute traffic stoppages and paced traffic on both eastbound and westbound U.S. 422 between Evergreen Road and Armand Hammer Boulevard, scheduled from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, to accommodate controlled blasting operations.
Motorists are strongly advised to budget extra travel time when passing through these areas due to expected delays and backups. It's important to note that the timing of these construction activities is subject to change based on weather conditions.
