Urgent Boil Water Advisory issued for Several Blocks in Pottstown

I remember as if it were yesterday. It was a warm, cozy spring morning. I got up, washed and then put the kettle on to make a cup of coffee. When it began to boil, I was spreading butter on the bread, and I saw how beautiful the steam looks against of the morning sun shining through the window on the background. And I decided that it would be good to make a video footage and a photo for Instagram stories. Many people sent me emoji of smiling face with heart-eyes. And today I suddenly realized that it would be cool to share this photo with the whole world.

A critical infrastructure issue has prompted a public health advisory earlier on Tuesday in Pottstown. The borough has been compelled to issue a boil water notice due to a water main rupture at the junction of High and Wilson Streets. This measure affects several neighborhoods, urging residents to boil their water as a precaution or to opt for bottled water for personal use.

This advisory specifically impacted areas along:

  • High Street, from 1495 to 1585

  • Loop Road, from 448 to 430

  • Grandview Road, from 302 to 371

  • Highland Road, from 307 to 348

  • Burdan Drive, from 405 to 453

  • Winding Road, from 20 to 41

Residents in these locations, especially those who noticed a water service interruption or are uncertain about their service's status, are advised to boil their water before consumption. This includes water used for drinking, ice-making, dental hygiene, dishwashing, and food preparation. The notice remains in effect until further updates, as efforts to rectify the water main break continue.
