A fire in Robeson Township caused significant damage to a couple's home and resulted in the death of their two cats. The blaze, noticed by a neighbor, was quickly controlled by firefighters, limiting damage to the kitchen. Despite this, the home suffered extensive smoke, heat, and water damage, estimated at $100,000. The couple has been displaced, staying in a hotel with assistance from the Red Cross. An electrical issue is suspected, and an investigation is underway.

Set in Truvy's Beauty Salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, the play unfolds as a space where local ladies gather not only for hairdos but also to exchange beauty tips, recipes, and juicy gossip. This salon becomes a crucible for forging strong friendships that support these women through both joyous and challenging times, embodying the resilience and beauty of magnolias.

Directed by Cathleen A. Sabatino and based on the book by Robert Harling, "Steel Magnolias" is praised for its exploration of female relationships across three generations, depicting their struggles, victories, and the unbreakable support they provide each other. Sabatino describes the play as a celebration of the beauty of these connections, likening it to a comforting embrace from a dear friend.

The show will run from March 8th through March 24th, with evening performances on Fridays and Saturdays, and matinees on select Saturdays and Sundays.
