Owen J. Roberts School Board Approves Full-Day Kindergarten for 2025

The Owen J. Roberts School Board in South Coventry has unanimously voted to start a full-day kindergarten program in the fall of 2025. The program aims to provide a more immersive learning experience, support mental health goals, and offer early intervention opportunities. The district plans to make necessary adjustments to accommodate the program without significant building projects, with an estimated one-time capital cost of $265,000 and an annual staffing cost of $475,000. The decision aligns with regional trends in education and offers flexibility for parents preferring half-day kindergarten for their children.

Major Route 422 Reconstruction Project Underway in Lower Pottsgrove

PennDOT has announced ongoing operations as part of an $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve Route 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township. The project involves reconstructing 1.7 miles of the expressway and replacing two bridges. Several travel restrictions will be in place from January 29 to February 1, affecting both directions of U.S. 422 and adjacent roads. The project aims to enhance the expressway's safety, ride quality, and longevity, with improvements including new bridges, extended ramps, intelligent transportation systems, sound barriers, updated signage, and upgraded stormwater management facilities. This initiative is part of a larger effort to improve the U.S. 422 corridor in the region.

‘Annie’ comes to Santander Arena on February 1st

"Annie," a heartwarming tale set in the era of the Great Depression, follows the adventures of a young, optimistic orphan named Annie. Living in Miss Hannigan's orphanage, Annie stands out from the other children with her unwavering belief that her parents are alive and will one day come for her. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she crosses paths with Oliver Warbucks, a billionaire who initially plans to adopt her.

However, Annie's only wish is to find her biological parents, a quest that Warbucks supports. In response, he offers a substantial reward for any information about Annie's parents, a move that inadvertently draws the attention of scheming con artists Rooster, Lily, and the cruel Miss Hannigan. They devise a plan to kidnap Annie and claim the reward. Despite these dark twists, the story assures a delightful conclusion, with Annie, Warbucks, and their companions finding joy and a sense of family.

Annie comes to Santander Arena in Reading PA this Thursday, February 1st. Doors open at 6:30 PM

Major Coaching Changes for Eagles: Moore and Fangio to Lead
Team’s Resurgence

EAGLES

The Philadelphia Eagles have hired Kellen Moore, formerly of the Chargers and Cowboys, as their new offensive coordinator, replacing Brian Johnson. Moore's successful track record with the Cowboys included leading one of the top offenses in the league. The Eagles have also hired Vic Fangio as their new defensive coordinator, following the dismissal of Sean Desai. Head coach Nick Sirianni plans to adopt a CEO-like approach, allowing Moore and Fangio to take charge of the playcalling. This coaching reshuffle comes after a disappointing season for the Eagles, culminating in a playoff loss to the Buccaneers.
