The victim, who was shot at least twice at close range, succumbed to his injuries at Pottstown Hospital.
Remarkably, witnesses at the scene detained the suspected shooter, ensuring his apprehension by the police upon their arrival. The suspect's identity has not been disclosed yet, and he is expected to face charges.
The victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was remembered by a former roommate who recalled the victim as a life-saver and lamented his recent struggles with homelessness and drug addiction.
The incident caused a temporary diversion of Pottstown Area Rapid Transit buses, redirecting them away from the Security Plaza hub for approximately four hours.
