AMITY AC AIFE GIRLS SOCCER WINS HEMPFIELD FALL CLASSIC TOURNAMENT
The Amity AC AIFE U18 Girls Soccer Team had a remarkable performance and was crowned this year’s Champions this past weekend of the Hempfield Fall Classic Tournament.
Going undefeated with 3 shutouts with 2 (0-0 draws against great competition), a 2-2 draw and win with PK’s and a 1- Shut Out in the Championship Match, the Amity AIFE faced adversity, injuries and the bitter cold to come out with a thrilling result.
In Saturday’s matches, Amity AC AIFE met Windsor Township Red Lion Heat and battled to 0-0 draw and later met Penn United Soccer Academy (Penn United Kicks) and also battled to a 0-0 draw!
This lead up to a thrilling match Sunday morning against Rebels Futbol Club (Rebels FC) where Amity Ac AIFE went down 1-0 on a controversial call that awarded Rebels FC a PK which they converted on. Shortly thereafter, another PK was awarded to Rebels FC which Amity AC’s goalkeeper made a brilliant save. This seemed to be the momentum changer that sparked Amity AC AIFE who roared back with an amazing direct kick from their defender and converted for the equalizer bringing the match to a 1-1 tie.
Soon thereafter, Rebels FC converted another goal to take the lead 2-1 only to see Amity AC tie the game on a very similar direct kick resulting in a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation time and subsequent PK’s.
Amity AC’s Goalkeeper came up huge nearly saving all of Rebels FC’s penalty attempts. Amity AC AIFE converted all of their attempts and only required 4 of their 5 attempts, securing the Girls U18 Hempfield Fall Classic Tournament!
Coaches George Tritz and David Nelligan expressed how proud they were of their players who stepped up, worked hard, and executed the game plan as a team.

Michael Wiggins, a 28-year-old from King of Prussia, was sentenced to 4 to 11 months in jail followed by two years of probation for indecently assaulting a woman on the Schuylkill River Trail.
The victim, profoundly affected, spoke of a lingering fear and loss of safety. The incident, which occurred in May 2022, was promptly investigated by local authorities.
Wiggins must also register as a sex offender under Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law for 25 years. The case highlights significant concerns regarding public safety and the impact of such crimes on victims.
Montgomery County Man Sentenced for Secretly Recording in Public Restrooms
Steven DeLuca, 54, from East Norriton, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to jail and probation for secretly recording men in public restrooms and locker rooms at various locations, including an LA Fitness in Upper Providence.
Caught in May 2022, DeLuca pleaded guilty to 10 counts of invasion of privacy. The court imposed a sentence of 2 to 6 months in jail, followed by house arrest and five years of probation. Eagles-Chiefs Rivalry Renewed:
Super Bowl Rematch Set for
Monday Night Showdown

In the upcoming Monday Night Football game, the Philadelphia Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII. Initially seen as underdogs, the Eagles confront a Chiefs team with a strong 7-2 season record.
The matchup is intriguing, especially given the Eagles' history of losses against teams led by their former coach, Andy Reid. While the Chiefs' solid defense and Patrick Mahomes' prowess pose significant challenges, the Eagles' powerful pass rush could exploit the Chiefs' weaker offensive line, setting the stage for a potentially riveting game.
