Looking ahead, Pottstown is set to face Methacton, while Upper Merion prepares to challenge Boyertown in their upcoming matches.

Owen J. Roberts Dominates Methacton
in 42-7 Victory

In a remarkable display of defensive prowess, Owen J. Roberts (OJR) secured a 42-7 win over Methacton on Friday night. The Wildcats turned defense into offense, intercepting four passes from Methacton quarterbacks before halftime and scoring on six consecutive drives.

Junior Justin Daubert and freshman Mekhi Graham were standout performers. Both intercepted passes in the first half and later scored offensive touchdowns. Graham notably dashed through for a 59-yard score, one of his two touchdowns for the night.

OJR's quarterback, Derek Hinrichs, had a stellar performance, completing five passes, including touchdown strikes to Matt Gregory and Daubert. The Wildcats' offensive line provided ample support, allowing players like Graham and Logan Brower to make significant yardage.

Senior Andy Calamaro praised the team's progress, noting the improvement in the offensive line's performance as the season progressed.

The win elevates OJR's season record to 7-2, ensuring their spot in the District 1-6A playoffs. The team is now eyeing a chance to host a District playoff game for the first time in school history.

OJR coach, Rich Kolka, expressed optimism about the team's prospects, emphasizing their preparation and defensive speed.

On the other hand, Methacton, with a season record of 5-4, is set to face Pottstown in their next crossover matchup. Despite the loss, Methacton celebrated their 2023 Homecoming, honoring exemplary students during halftime.

Final Score: Owen J. Roberts 42, Methacton 7.

Phillies Take Commanding Lead in NL Championship Series with
Win Over Diamondbacks

In a dominant performance, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-1 on Saturday night, taking a 3-2 lead in the NL Championship Series. The victory brings Philadelphia one step closer to its second consecutive World Series appearance.

Zack Wheeler showcased his postseason prowess with seven impressive innings, allowing just one run. Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and J.T.
