Phoenixville Phantoms Reign Supreme in 37-7 Homecoming Victory Over Pottsgrove
Phoenixville Phantoms celebrated a dominant 37-7 victory over Pottsgrove in a Homecoming contest, maintaining their perfect mark in the PAC’s Frontier Division.
Senior lineman Jamie Gray showcased his skills on both sides of the ball and was named a "royal" during the halftime ceremony. Quarterback Ty Romance threw three touchdown passes, while the team's runners combined for 299 yards and two second-half touchdowns.
Despite a spirited defensive effort from Pottsgrove, including an interception and a forced fumble, Phoenixville's robust offense and staunch defense secured their triumph. Coach Anthony Ciarlello emphasizes the need for continuous improvement as they anticipate a crucial matchup against Pope John Paul II in two weeks.
Pottstown Secures Narrow 6-0 Victory Over Upper Perkiomen with Stellar Defensive Performance
In a tightly contested match, Pottstown secured a 6-0 win over Upper Perkiomen in the Pioneer Athletic Conference Frontier Division at Bill Keeny Stadium.
The only score came from a 66-yard touchdown play by Nahzier Booker in the third quarter. Despite facing penalties and defensive challenges, Pottstown's defense held firm, stopping Upper Perkiomen twice inside the 10-yard line in the fourth quarter. Both teams struggled offensively in the first half, but Pottstown managed to pull through with a combination of strategic plays and a solid defensive performance.
Upper Perkiomen, although showing moments of potential, was unable to convert opportunities into scores, resulting in another close loss for the season.

However, Penn Manor narrowed the gap with a 48-yard pass from Kyle Furnier to Josiah Torres and subsequently took the lead with an 8-yard run by Adrian Smith, following an interception by Dhonyai Loy.
Boone faced turnovers towards the end due to a fumbled snap and an interception, solidifying Penn Manor's win.

EAGLES

Unbeaten Eagles Soar Over Rams with a 23-14 Victory, Maintaining a Stellar Start to the Season
The Philadelphia Eagles secured a victory against the Los Angeles Rams with a score of 23-14, maintaining their unbeaten status.
Jalen Hurts showcased a stellar performance, passing for 303 yards and a touchdown, and rushing for another score. Despite the Rams being aware of the Eagles' signature short-yardage surge play, they couldn’t prevent Hurts from scoring a crucial touchdown.
Dallas Goedert and A.J. Brown also delivered commendable performances. The Eagles' defense played a pivotal role, shutting out the Rams in the second half. On the other hand, Cooper Kupp made a notable return for the Rams after an injury, and Matthew Stafford passed for 222 yards, hitting touchdowns but couldn’t steer the team to victory.
Both teams faced some challenges and injuries but are looking forward to their next matches.
PHILLIES

Harper Homers, Phillies' Bullpen Silences Braves in 3-0 NLDS Opener Triumph. Game 2 Tonight at 6:07 PM ET
The Philadelphia Phillies clinched a 3-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the NL Division Series, with Bryce Harper hitting his 12th career postseason homer and Ranger Suárez, along with other relievers, combining on a five-hitter.
Despite the Braves' impressive season record, they were shut out in their postseason opener, a first since May 12 and the first at Truist Park this season. Bryson Stott and Harper provided crucial runs, while the Phillies' bullpen effectively stifled the Braves' offense.
The Braves, who had a remarkable regular season, now trail the Phillies and will aim to bounce back in Game 2. Max Fried is set to start for the Braves, while Zack Wheeler will take the mound for the Phillies in the upcoming game.
