LOCAL CRIME

Last Suspect in Reading's Initial 2021 Murder Case Extradited from Texas
Jason Nival, the third suspect in Reading's first murder of the year, has been extradited from Texas to Berks County Prison.
The 26-year-old faces charges of first- and third-degree murder, conspiracy, and weapons offenses following the ambush shooting of Eric Ferrer on January 18. Nival was arrested in Texas on September 8 and is the last of three siblings implicated in the crime.
Earlier, Julio Nival and Angelo Delgado were arrested in late July. The incident occurred as Ferrer was returning to his apartment, where he was fatally shot near the entrance. Investigations, including security footage and mobile communications tracing, led to the identification and subsequent arrests of the suspects.

Philadelphia Eagles Maintain Unbeaten Streak with a 25-11 Win Over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In a thrilling Monday night showdown, Jalen Hurts showcased his prowess both in the air and on the ground, propelling the Philadelphia Eagles to a 25-11 triumph over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This victory keeps the Eagles' unbeaten streak alive.
The reigning NFC champions are off to a flying start, marking a 3-0 record in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the early 90s (1992-93). This early momentum mirrors their impressive eight-game winning streak from the previous year.
Hurts' stellar performance was a blend of agility and precision. He notched a 34-yard touchdown pass to Olamide Zaccheaus, contributing to a 13-3 lead for Philly at halftime. His rushing touchdown further widened the gap, putting the Eagles 17 points ahead early in the latter half.
By the time the Buccaneers managed to respond with a touchdown, courtesy of Baker Mayfield's 1-yard pass to Mike Evans, the Eagles were leading 25-3. Although a successful 2-point conversion narrowed the lead to 14, the Buccaneers' hopes were dashed as Hurts orchestrated a game-sealing drive that lasted over nine minutes, ensuring the Eagles' possession till the end.
In that decisive drive, Hurts exhibited his passing accuracy, completing 4 of 5 passes, and clinched a crucial first down with his legs.
On the other side, the Buccaneers (2-1) tasted defeat for the first time with Mayfield as their quarterback. Despite their previous clean slate against Minnesota and Chicago, they committed two turnovers. Their defense, usually a stronghold, also faltered, allowing 201 rushing yards.
D'Andre Swift continued his rushing rampage for Philadelphia, amassing 130 yards on 16 carries, following his career-high 175 yards in the previous week. Hurts had a commendable passing game, with 23 completions out of 37 attempts for 277 yards, despite two interceptions. A.J. Brown also shone with nine catches for 131 yards, bolstering the Eagles' offense.
Mayfield's night was less stellar, with 15 completions out of 25 attempts for 146 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Evans' five catches took his career receptions to 700.
With this victory, the Eagles join the ranks of Miami and San Francisco as the only NFL teams yet to face defeat this season.
