This victory marked the end of the Chiefs' impressive eight-game winning streak in Week 1 encounters.

Attempting to secure their lead as the clock wound down, the Lions faced a hiccup when Goff's crucial fourth-down pass near the halfway line was deflected, leaving the door ajar for the Chiefs with 2:30 minutes remaining.
