Post 2023-24 School Year, Villanova and Cabrini Universities Set to Unite
Cabrini University is citing ongoing financial problems

Villanova and Cabrini, two Main Line universities, have announced that they will merge following the 2023-24 school year. As part of the merger, Cabrini will be absorbed by Villanova, but the Cabrini name will still be retained. The decision was attributed to the increasingly challenging higher education landscape and ongoing financial troubles at Cabrini, exacerbated by declining enrollment, the pandemic, and economic uncertainty. Despite various measures, Cabrini's operating deficit remains unmanageable.
Cabrini will continue with its 2023-24 academic school year as planned, and both universities will collaborate to support Cabrini students with individualized transfer plans and help faculty and staff identify potential job opportunities. After Cabrini's last class graduates in May 2024, Villanova will take over Cabrini's 112-acre campus. Villanova plans to preserve Cabrini's legacy and continue some of its most impactful work in areas such as education, nursing, service, immigration, and the advancement of women.
Cabrini, founded in 1957, currently has 1,616 students and participates in 19 Division III sports. In contrast, Villanova has 6,700 full-time undergraduate students and 3,100 graduate and law students.
Exeter High School Alum Uses TikTok Fame to Feed Homeless with Pasta Extravaganza
An alumnus of Exeter Township High School, now known as Peters Pasta on TikTok, has risen to social media fame with nearly five million followers. He uses his platform to aid in feeding the homeless.
Peters expressed his astonishment at his internet fame. As a chef now based in Pittsburgh, Peters began creating online content only recently. His popularity on TikTok soared due to a series of pasta-making videos featuring an egg yolk as the star.
Peters shared that his video series, which started from boredom and a dozen eggs in his fridge, evolved into a challenge where the ingredients doubled with each new pasta batch.

His unique initiative caught the attention of viewers, leading to a collaboration with renowned YouTuber Mr. Beast. This partnership allowed Peters to prepare a batch of pasta using 10,000 eggs. This particular video has amassed over 36 million views and has enabled Peters to feed around 2,500 individuals.
Peters finds fulfillment in not only cooking but also serving the food to those unsure of where their next meal will come from. As he gains more support, his fans wonder whether he'll attempt to feed the homeless with a pasta made from 20,000 eggs. While the answer remains unknown, one thing is certain: his hometown of Berks County will be closely following his journey.

On the field, he silenced the hecklers by inducing crucial double plays in the eighth and ninth innings. Mets pitcher Max Scherzer had a solid outing, striking out eight batters over six innings, while Starling Marte contributed a home run. The win came after a contrasting performance for both teams since their previous matchup, with the Phillies surging in the wild-card race while the Mets struggled.
Despite the Mets' recent slump, manager Buck Showalter confirmed owner Steve Cohen's continued support. The game was well-received by a pro-Mets crowd, evident from the chants and energy in the stadium.
UNION

This win extended the Union's formidable home record to 18-1-2 in their last 21 matches, including playoff games. With a current record of 10-5-4 and 34 points, Philadelphia has been performing strongly, boasting an 8-1-3 record in their last 12 MLS matches.
Inter Miami, on the other hand, is enduring a challenging season, having suffered a season-worst seven consecutive losses. Robert Taylor managed to score a consolation goal for Miami, but it was not enough to overturn their poor form. The team has struggled throughout the season, previously enduring a six-match losing streak. Currently sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, Inter Miami hopes for a turnaround when international star Lionel Messi joins the club in late July, and Sergio Busquets, Messi's former Barcelona teammate, signs for the team under owner David Beckham.
In the absence of regular goalkeeper Andre Blake, who was participating in Jamaica's Gold Cup match against the United States, Joe Bendik stepped in and made one save to secure the victory for Philadelphia. The Union took an early lead in the 14th minute through a successful conversion of a corner kick.
SIXERS

Philadelphia 76ers Aim to Retain James Harden Amid Free Agency Speculation
The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly keen on retaining the services of veteran guard James Harden, according to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski. Harden, who has a player option for the 2023-24 season worth $35.6 million, has until June 29 to make his decision.
Should Harden opt for free agency, the 76ers are expected to negotiate with him. However, Wojnarowski suggests that Harden may not be offered the "traditional, full-max, long-term deal" he has commanded throughout his career from the 76ers.
The ESPN insider also noted the mutual interest between Harden and his former team, the Houston Rockets. Given that the Rockets have the highest salary-cap space in the NBA, they have numerous options for free agency.
The 2023 free-agent market, despite not being as deep as some previous years, still features big names. Stars such as Harden, Kyrie Irving, Fred VanVleet, and Kyle Kuzma could potentially switch teams. In addition, Damian Lillard and Zion Williamson have been at the center of numerous trade rumors, while there's also focus on Deandre Ayton after Bradley Beal's trade to the Phoenix Suns.
Teams like the Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be active in roster changes, possibly attracting veterans willing to take a discount for a shot at the championship. The Rockets and San Antonio Spurs, equipped with substantial cap space, could also make moves to bolster their youthful rosters. The 2023 free agency is set to open on June 30, promising plenty of action.
