Reading Police Department Experiences Backlash Following Arrest of Preacher at Pride Event

The Reading Police Department has experienced a surge of harassing communications after an officer arrested a preacher, Damon Atkins, who was protesting near a Pride event at City Hall.
The incident, which was captured on video and went viral, showed Atkins ignoring police directives not to disrupt the event, leading to his arrest for disorderly conduct. This led to public backlash, with people believing Atkins' rights were violated.
The charges were later dismissed by the Berks County district attorney's office.
The fallout from the incident has resulted in thousands of daily harassing emails and calls to the department, impacting their ability to handle emergency situations and causing significant stress. Police Chief Richard Tornielli appealed for public support during a City Council meeting, where council president Donna Reed expressed her backing for the department.
It remains to be seen whether or not council president or the Police Chief appeal for 1st Amendment Rights.

Apple Watch Users Can Now Add Cards to Apple Pay Directly with watchOS 10

The new watchOS 10 introduces a range of features for Apple Watch, including the ability to add cards to Apple Pay directly from the watch without the need for an iPhone.
The Wallet app on the watch now includes an "Add Card" button, allowing users to complete the Apple Pay setup process on the watch itself. This development is part of Apple's ongoing effort to make the Apple Watch less dependent on the iPhone.
Other updates in watchOS 10 include a refreshed interface, widgets accessible from any watch face, new options for cycling exercise monitoring, mental health tracking, Group FaceTime Audio, and NameDrop.
While developers can currently try out watchOS 10 through the Apple Developer Program, a public beta is expected to be released in July and the final version will be available in the fall.
