Boyertown Farmers Market Set to Kick Off Its Third Season on June 1

The Boyertown Farmers /Market is set to commence its third season on June 1, operating on the first and third Thursday of each month through September.

The market, located at the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles' parking lot, features local growers, producers, and artisans. Following the success of last year's themed markets, this year will also present a variety of vendors, food trucks, and themed nights.

The market encourages a sense of community, offering a place for locals to shop, socialize, and enjoy live music. Detailed updates are available on the Building a Better Boyertown website, and queries about vendor registration or sponsorship can be directed to [email protected].

Biden and McCarthy Fail to Reach Debt Ceiling Agreement Despite Productive Discussions at the White House

President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy recently met to negotiate on raising the US debt ceiling, which, if not addressed, could lead to the US defaulting on its debt as early as June 1, 2023.

Despite a productive meeting, no agreement was reached between the two parties.

The Republicans, represented by McCarthy, are pushing for spending cuts, while the Democrats, represented by Biden, are advocating for maintaining spending at current levels.

Biden has also suggested raising taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations, a proposal rejected by McCarthy. The failure to reach an agreement could have severe implications for the US economy, including the loss of nearly a million jobs and significant impacts on retirement savings, mortgage payments, and private student loan payments.

While some Democrats are urging Biden to invoke the 14th Amendment to bypass Congress and declare the debt ceiling unconstitutional, Biden has expressed hesitancy due to potential litigation
